Archive - 'Dublin Junior Champions 2009'

Final Score: Ballyboughal 0-13 Man-O-War 1-7

On Sunday the 4th of October 2009, a group of men from Ballyboughal took to the field in Parnell Park. They had a monkey on their back, 42 years in the making. In 'Man-o-War' they had worthy opponents who had already beaten them in the league that year.

However, history was to be made that day, as the men from Ballyboughal fought relentlessly for every point and breaking ball. Throughout the game they never let their opponents rest for a second in possession.

On that great day, these same men emulated the triumph of the great 'boughal team of '67, and lifted the Dublin Junior Championship. In doing so they brought great honor and glory on themselves, their jerseys and on their village. These men joined the select few in the immortality of Ballyboughal folklore.
